Reading, England: The Emirates Falconers’ Club participated at the two-day International Festival of Falconry held in Berkshire, the United Kingdom.
The step is an initiative to incorporate falconry as a Unesco cultural heritage. The two-day festival ends today. “Falconry is not a sport but a way of life, and our efforts of conservation also include registering it as an Unesco world heritage,” said Maysa Al Nowais, spokesperson of the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi.
The UAE was the first country to submit its application to Unesco to have falconry recognised as cultural heritage, five months ago.
