Wild Birds Unlimited Presents Raptor Presentation at Huntsville Botanical Garden
Representatives from Save Our American Raptors in Chattanooga, TN will be at the Huntsville Botanical Garden on Friday, October 10th, 2008. John and Dale Stokes will be presenting 3 owls, a Bald Eagle, a Red-Tailed Hawk, an American Kestrel, a Harris’ Hawk and a Black Vulture. Weather permitting; several of the birds will take to the air.
Presentations are at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm in the Boeing-Toyota Amphitheatre.
The presentations are open to the public and require garden admission – FREE for members, $10 for non-members; $8 for seniors and military; $5 for children.
About Raptors
Raptors have grasping talons and hooked beaks for tearing their food. They are mostly carnivorous and prey on a variety of animals including rodents, snakes and other birds. Topics discussed will include habitat and field marks of the raptors present. Natural history information and interesting raptor trivia make this event appropriate for children and adults of all ages. Bring your cameras and your questions!
